Theresa has worked as a programmer at the West Islip Library for years. She has adapted quickly to the changes of the pandemic and provides amazing ideas and crafting kits to the community for all ages. Virtually, Theresa hosts instructional craft videos to do on your own time as well as Zoom sessions for games such as trivia and craft/food wars. Her fun-loving personality makes her classes more entertaining and enjoyable.

Theresa offers a wide variety of great programs for families, tweens, teens and adults. She is always organized and professional. Theresa adapted well to the changes that the pandemic demanded of libraries and was immediately available to librarians across Long Island and beyond offering an assortment of programs online. Some of her most popular programs include the Community Service Animal Shelter programs and the fun, competitive programs such as cupcake wars, craft wars and a host of trivia games!

Our department and patrons have a great time at Theresa’s programs! She’s super flexible and has an array of programs which are engaging. Our teens at Elmont have so much fun. Our patrons really enjoy her party favors and activities, she always has more than enough. She’s amazing for kick-off parties or individual programs. We had her for celebrating our new program room, end of summer reading party, a community service program, and so much more!

Theresa brought her shrinky dink program to the East Islip Public Library for our annual Comic Con. Her original program was for Stranger Things, but as it was for a general con, she happily modified the program to include many more fandoms. We advertised the Honey, I Shrunk my Fandom! program to teens but she generously allowed younger children and families to partake. Theresa came early, setup with no complaint (despite our broken elevator) and stayed even longer than we had expected. Our patrons greatly enjoyed her program and I greatly enjoyed her professionalism and the ease with which it is to use her for library programs.

Only great things to say about Theresa’s Programs! We have been hiring Theresa for our Teen programs at the Syosset Public Library for a few years now and she is always energetic, organized and wonderful with the teens (and they are a tricky age group!) She managed to adapt her programs into virtual and grab-and-go kits during this past crazy year, and we have booked her for trivia, sugar scrubs, nailed it, shrinky dinks, bird feeders, volunteer programs and more and the programs fill up and the teens have a great time! Looking forward to more fun programs this year!!

Theresa did a pub trivia evening at Comsewogue Library. It was a lot of fun and I think everyone had a great time. The questions weren’t that hard although some were quite amusing! Lots of fun and I enjoyed it a lot. Can’t wait for the next one! Thanks Theresa!

I can’t say enough about Theresa’s recent Polymer Clay program. We asked her to run the program as a volunteer opportunity with the finished products (backpack zipper pulls) going to the L.I. Homeless Coalition. The teens loved the program and the results were beautiful, heartwarming, and functional. Theresa’s programs are always topnotch and so creative!

Theresa’s Programs is relevant to most, if not all teens. Her Animal Lovers programming engages teens with local shelters, where they learn about their community’s needs in regards to their animals, and they also gain valuable experience and volunteer hours by creating items that are gifted to the shelter. Her gaming programs are so much fun! All of our teens always look forward to her programs including Blindfolded Taste Test Contest and Fear Factor. They also win cool prizes. We can’t wait to have her back and to start crafting programs next! We recommend her to all!!!! January 2021 Update: With the given changes in our environment and services due to the pandemic, Theresa has made a quick turnaround into changing her programming to virtual. Our favorite are her program kits! Kits come with most, if not all, materials that will be needed for each project, along with instructions and/or a link to view the howto video. We have received multiple compliments and messages of appreciation for many of her kits, some even for community service! Thank you, Theresa, for continuing to work with libraries and help us provide vital services and activities that teens and families need during this time!
